Junior corp associate at a V50 firm in NY. Just received offer a few days ago in Charlotte, a city I really want to live. However, the role is for cap mkts /asset securitization and esoteric assets, e.g., auto loans, railroad, etc. I value having some work life balance. I heard the hours in asset securitization / esoteric assets can be awful. The work is very complex / niche. Does this sound about right? I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.
