Hi everyone! Can anyone provide me with their guidance on how did they prepare for ACAMS? Thanks!

The link listed below was really helpful when I took the exam. The exam's questions have a lot of repetition. Additionally, complete every practice exam on the ACAMS Self-Study Exam Preparation website, and pay close attention to the sample flashcards they provide you with because they are quite helpful.

Personally, I just studied.

funny

What kinds of materials did you study?

You should have access to study materials once you complete the ACAMS certification package. If you study those, you should be good to go. It's not too difficult, in my opinion. Good luck!

There's also a book called AML Expert that comes with a practice exam if you want to make sure you're prepared. It's important to have a decent grasp on the concepts, so just study, study, study....

like

I was coming to say the same - I used the study materials and found it to be pretty useful overall. Not sure if you'll need other materials really...there are lots of mock questions you can find that are pretty helpful. But unlike other tests. there aren't really test prep resources like Kaplan etc that you could do :/

like

Where did you find additional mock questions?

Just study what you need to study and relax. Sometimes when you get too anxious, it's your nerves that will fail your brain to remember all the things that you have studied. Get enough sleep and exercise.

So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?

I’m getting put up for manager a year early. I have PPMD ,SM, and M support. Pretty much support from all the key individuals on my team and in my service line. Since it is a year early if i don’t get promoted this round I know it’ll come mid year but I do expect a good salary increase still without the promo. If I don’t get the promo nor a salary increase that I’m okay with, how do I let my partner know that I will begin to entertain outside offers? some of which have offered the manager role.

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.

Any advice and past experiences in such career shit?
