Are you familiar with the STAR interview method? I think that I would focus on studying some behavioral interview questions and having solid answers developed for those questions so that you can demonstrate who you are in a professional environment
See the job description for corporate accountant of top companies in the industry. See what they need and prepare accordingly. Also prepare for questions like why accounting, why you wnat to leave previous employer, tell me about a time you failed, why this company, etc
Research the industry including the company and each of its competitors. Go into interview knowing a lot of their specific KPIs.
- Know your resume inside out -depending on how many people you talk to they will ask you to walk through your resume/ tell me about yourself etc and have talking some talking points expanding on it semi-memorized so you don’t have to take too long to answer
- already mentioned but research the company and the people interviewing you if you know beforehand
- realize they might ask an out there question to see how your reaction/ability to think on your feet not necessarily give the perfect answer
- come prepared with questions whether culture, industry, or about your interviewer - I was at an in person interview and at the end they were walking me around the office and caught the CAO before leaving and he basically wanted a mini interview and asked me what is one thing I would tell the CFO and bsed my answer bc I had no idea what he was asking but still got the offer
