Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

I suggest you reach out to the partner if you haven’t heard from the HR by today. Explain the situation you discussed above and say that you are reaching out directly as a last measure before you lose your other offer. Sometimes partners are not aware that HR is being sloppy.
No need to mention that KPMG is your first choice and that you’d forego the other offer easily. Put them on the clock to get back to you and keep leveraging that other offer to get the compensation that you are expecting.
Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated! I will give her until tomorrow and if I don't hear anything I will reach out to the Partner. Unfortunately, I will have to reach out on LinkedIn because throughout the interview I asked HR for all the interviewer's emails so I could send a thank you note and she completely brushed off the question. This Lady is a director of recruiting...
You might be on their reserve list, with them waiting to see if their first choice accepts or not. Or it could just be a shockingly poor recruitment / HR team.
Yeah, I find it almost kind of crazy that HR has not said anything. All I asked for was a timeline on when I should expect to hear something back. I thought it was unprofessional for her to not even say anything back. The last follow-up I did, I got an out of the office with no backup in her email...
Currently, all B4 are so understaffed that HR is in overdrive. If you had great feedback, just wait for few more weeks. I still would suggest start applying elsewhere just in case.
Thank you for the advice! Last week when I followed up, in her OOO email she had her phone number and said if it's urgent please text me so I went ahead and texted her letting her know that I had another offer and had until Wednesday this week to give an answer. I made it very clear that KPMG was my #1 choice and I wanted to discuss with her first before I made a decision. She still didn't make any move despite me letting her know. Part of me is ready for the rejection but the other part of me is hopeful for an offer because I haven't gotten rejected yet - I just think it's very unprofessional behavior. If I don't have the job, I would appreciate her letting me know instead of not saying anything at all.
Sorry but if they're not even giving you a token reply it's not looking good. Anything could happen but I would just be ready for a rejection.
Interesting... Feedbacks were all very positive throughout the interviews. Partner also said he really enjoyed the conversation and liked my experience. I added them on LinkedIn and dropped a little thank you note. They all accepted the request but it does not mean anything. I appreciate your input!
