Layoffs at grey?

I saw that the Warner Bros. Discovery group has started with massive layoffs over at CNN. Is any job safe right now?

I recently started a new role, accepted the job because of an awesome interview with the hiring manager who got me really excited about the opportunities at this new company. Been there a short time, and today I find out they are planning to layoff the entire group I’m with because of a restructuring in the next few weeks. I just can’t believe it, need to process the bait and switch.

Performance review recently, good performer and all is going well. Up for promotion. Then my project MD emails me saying we should connect and I go into tailspin thinking I’m in trouble. Logically, am I getting fired? And why is this exactly where my mind goes?

I have been with my firm for about two years. The associate I work for is not meeting the partners expectations. My fear is the associate will get fired and then I will be without a job. Thoughts?

I'm a recent undergrad, just started my first job in July at a data consulting startup, yet 1 month into training (got a Snowflake cert), was suddenly laid off along with half of the firm.

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?

I'm an EA at a small global consulting firm (<25 people) with 5 years of experience supporting C-Suite execs. 3 months ago, the CEO put me in charge of our marketing efforts, and yesterday, he fired our recruiting coordinator and asked me to take over her job. Have I just had bad luck with the companies I've been at or is it like this everywhere? I've had 7 managers in my 4 years of experience, 3 in one year at my first position (which is why I left) and now 4 at the 2nd company in 3 years. There has been a mix of people leaving and people getting fired but the instability feels extreme.

When counting up the number of years of experience someone has, are internships included? 2 years FT + 3 internships = 3 years of experience?
