Hi everyone, I made this bowl to have an open discussion about ageism, share stories and see where we can make a change. That said, what did you expect when you joined this bowl? I’m 24 and just coming in to the industry, so the more I know the better an ally I can be.

For the last three years I have seen my practice only promote white guys to senior managers even though a few of the main partners are Indians. There are quite a few good Indian managers who were trying to get promoted but none of them made it for last three years. Not sure if this is intentional or coincidental.

So... looking at US Steel (X) and the steel indstry in general. Buy or Short?

What’s been the sentiment on MARA? Is the blip gone?

We are starting to build our SE team after a successful pilot with one person. Have you ever built a team from the ground up? How did you prove out the business case? What was most effective for building the case for more hires?

I’ve noticed that HR, when explaining why a candidate didn’t get the job, tend to lean on “You’re great, but we had candidates with more experience in [skill relevant to the job].” I do believe this is true in some cases, but it can’t possibly be for all of them.

HR folks — what feedback have you obscured by offering that line instead?
