My 1st suggestion would be to find her Pinterest and see what's on her wishlist or saved in her Amazon cart. Or call her best friend for suggestions. That will win tremendous points! If not, definitely get something she can exchange from Nordstrom or a local store and that's versatile. Here are a few options without knowing her style:
Lux & Nyx Oragami Tote
Kate Spade Morgan Laptop Bag (elegant black bag)
Marc Jacobs Tote Bag (Large or Medium, not the small)
Modern Picnic The Backpack
Lo & Sons OG2
Appreciate the brand recommendations! I personally believe I know my wife’s style and preference better than her other friends. Worst case scenario, she’s always welcome to return it.
No woman wants a laptop bag, trust me. We have tried them all and they are still sized for men.
A really lovely gift would be a designer bag with a laptop sleeve and an organizer (get these to match the bag interior off Etsy.)
Something like the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM size. Has many different options for design, subtle or bold logos. Will set you back about $2000-$3000 with tax, but she can carry it as a purse for the rest of her life, it’s super durable, never goes out of style and can be repaired. Or resold at some point, they hold their value well.

Sorry, I didn’t mean a “laptop bag.” I meant a tote or some other kind of bag with a laptop sleeve like you mentioned. Appreciate the rec!
Ask her what she wants. Does she even want a laptop bag?
VP1 there’s no flip flopping here. I said I know her style well. I’m just looking for brand recommendations.
Your critical thinking and/or reading comprehension is bonkers.
Based on OP’s comment thus far, 100% likelihood his wife will hate the bag. l ol
and text her girlfriends that she got a bag she didn't want/ask for AND now has to do the work to return it:)
Can you guys just give the man laptop bag suggestions and stop projecting your needs/wants???
I really didn’t expect this post to incite such strong opinions
Your wife wants a night or two alone in a hotel not a laptop bag for Mothers Day. Book her a room and a spa appointment and let her get her own bag.
Nah, it’s rude for anyone to assume they know what my wife needs. Based on the suggestion, I can then fairly assume BC1’s wife is overworked and needs a spa day.

Edit: for all you telling me I shouldn’t buy this for her because I don’t know her style, that’s not why I posted this. I know my wife and her taste very well. And if she doesn’t like what I pick out, it’s real easy to return something. I was simply asking for recommended brands.
It can be returned and this isn’t going to be the only purse she ever owns in her life. Thanks for the input, but it wasn’t helpful. Im sorry you’re too high maintenance to enjoy a gift.

I would be very appreciative if my husband bought me a Tumi bag!
I just bought a Waterfield and love it. It's in your budget.
Ask one of her friends! My partner went to one of my girlfriends for help when picking out jewelry for me, he would have been lost otherwise.
Most comments here suck. I’d book her reservations at restaurant for her and friend/you then give a card explaining gift of going to buy bag and getting lunch.
Wow.. so a card explaining a gift = mansplaining now? Thinking about S/O is what matters. A passive go do this is lazy and thoughtless. A planned meal with intentional shopping is thoughtful and shows care.
I like Dagne Dover
I love my tumi backpack (has a laptop sleeve) for everyday use. Can also personalize with initials for a nice gift. Also Lo & sons OG bag!
Appreciate the endorsement! And I’ll check out Lo & sons!

OMG it is amazing how OP simply asked for recommendations and instead received judgement about his sense of his wife’s style, the state of his marriage, etc. I’m sorry OP!
I know it’s not in the price range you have in mind but personally I would appreciate the LV Neverfull more - it’s a statement, it lasts well and is versatile.
Kate spade is another good option- they are more likely to have multiple options for well sized bags.
I have a tumi backpacks that I’ve used for a decade. It has run the test of travel and NYC commutes really well. Si ce you say you know her style I’d look at Tumi and some of the other brands. I’d love if my husband found the perfect commuter bag for me so not sure why these other opinions are needed.
