I am a business development manager in a small biotech incubator. My end goal is to work in commercial, BD or operations within a big pharma/biotech company. What would be best for me:

1) stay in my company to quickly become BD Director and then exit (however my learning opportunities within my current company might be limited)
2) go do consulting for a few years
3) any other recommendations?

If you’re at B4, would you get any serious consideration at M7s if you tried to matriculate right when you hit the 3 year mark (apply at 2)? I hear that a lot of MBB people do this but the standard timeline for B4 seems to be to matriculate at 4 YOE.

I'm in Silicon Valley, and been in the industry for about 15 years now. Fell into the corporate in-house role and been in those ever since. I primarily do marketing/brand design. I'd love to get to AD level, but I think my main issues has been that I rock the boat a lot and don't play the "corporate game well", piss off the wrong people. Does anyone have any advise for how to advance in corporate environement while keeping the integrity of creative alive?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Hi Fishes, Have a query. My spouse is working in the electrical and electronics field for the last 15years, in various GCC countries. Now he wishes to come back to India and wants to join some company here. But seems like similar opportunities are very less, say close to 3-4%. What is your opinion if he takes a DevOps course and do a career change ? What will be the % of getting interviews ? Even if he gets selected, how much will he get?

Please help! I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.
