Some BS I noticed that I’d like to call out…
As we’ve all seen there have been layoffs happening left and right. However, there’s a right way to handle the situation.
Lyft isn’t one of them. I was with the company earlier this year on a contract to hire role that was ended suddenly. Then, yesterday I saw on LinkedIn that most of the team was laid off (including team lead) YET I’ve had a recruiter reach out to me to apply to my same old position with the team but…

Definitely using both of these.

AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

The biggest frustration I have seen is poor communications from leadership. The best companies, and the best supervisors, are forthcoming with explaining what is happening and why.
The worst companies I've ever worked for operated in a very 'top down' way, where all decisions were from the 'higher ups' with no input from anyone actually on the project and we were expected to execute without question or without understanding the purpose of the decision. Likewise, the worst managers and supervisors are those who don't communicate important information to their direct reports.
There's not a lot of options left. Have you tried in-person? You should document everything, unanswered emails, messages and the impact. If possible looping in others, like stakeholders and cc on emails would also be advised.
If communication failure is affecting work, check if colleagues are experiencing the same and consider escalating to a mentor, another leader, or HR.

Bless you for this! A VERY needed boost to those drowning in the work-related wave-pool. Well done!!!
