Gross, there are so many idioms like this that went from commonplace to totally tone deaf, in the span of just a few years. “Open the kimono,” “presentation length should be like a skirt - long enough to cover the essentials but short enough to be interesting” etc on and on and on.

likefunny

I mean, they were all pretty funny (and I’m a feminist leaning female), but to me it’s interesting that those kinds of idioms went from “colorful” to “wildly inappropriate” so quickly.

A HR question I really want to understand. ISRS HR quoted a podcast "The not so great resignation" saying 70% regret leaving and many want to go back to old employer. If this really the case the employee likely left due to higher pay at the new company. If they want to boomerang back they will likely come back at even a higher rate than they left the new company for. So getting double raise when they boomeranged. Isn't it unbeneficial, why not just give employee a 7% raise in the first place?

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?
