I need advice.
I work at an manufacturing company as a technician. My job title is a technician but they use me as an engineer as-well. There are three techs overall in the company. My boss who hired me understands what my degree is in so he uses me to design parts and write reports. The plant manager doesn’t know my skills so anytime I’m in the office working he calls me to the floor to do something the other techs can do. Should I have a talk with the boss about it? (I ran out of characters)

Graduated 2019, admitted late 2019, been practicing almost three years. First two in LT lit, then almost a year in transactional. Making $70k now working from 9:30-7:00.. almost non- stop. No time for lunch type of work dynamic. Daily tasks: Attend 1-2 closings and 1-2 signing contract with client . I don’t mind the work, just $70k is hard to sustained a living, any ideas on how I can transition to a better paying transactional practice area? 😐

Current firm really wants me to stay, counters that it will try to get me salary as close to big law offer and give me complex work. Stay at ID firm or accept big law offer?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Ik recruiters don’t really read cover letters, but I learned about banking rlly late into college. i’m the daughter of blue collar workers who don’t speak English so I never really knew what jobs were “prestigious”

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
