We’re all either hybrid or fully remote, and that’s here to stay. 1500 billables and we’re serious about it. Work is primarily ECVC, Outside GC, M&A. Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

Anyone have idea on below companies. Which is better in terms of WLB & hikes? Both offering almost same CTC.

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Anyone else ever feel like a completely inadequate consultant? I'm struggling with performance quality on this project because I just feel dumb and it demotivates me to really strive to improve. Possibly also impacted by burnout because I performed well on other engagements and enjoyed my teams more. Just not sure where to go from here to get where I need to be.

Recently I was taking interview for a candidate, I was asking him questions on Binary Tree/Linked lists etc.. He couldn't answer any, And on top of that he argued "we don't need data structures and algorithms since frameworks/Libraries are already there". So just a message young engineers out there. These technologies/Frameworks are written with the knowledge of DSA. Even non-technical people will be able to use them provided with proper training. So don't forget the engineering roots ever....
