In my opinion: Be honest with the new candidate on the dynamics. You will most likely get the person who will stay long-term, being honest, vs. someone is coming in the door and getting blindsided on the dynamics and leave.
Apologies for long message, I kind of typed it when I was emotional.
Is too experienced then that person will report to my mama her but if not “too experienced” than to me. Also when we posted JD I was the hiring manager but now I see in the internal system he is the Hiring Manager. I weave my first round of interview scheduled next Monday and I would like clarity if I am the hiring manager or not before taking interview to not give confusing message to candidate. Also, I feel like if I am not the Hiring mananger, I will still have to do a lot more work to onboard person , since I am the most senior strategy person in the team. How should I bring it up to my manager? I was planning to tell him that I am willing to take responsibility but would need promotion for added responsibility and also to have clear hierarchy so Manager doesn’t report to another manager. I fear if I ask that he will just say , yea it’s ok that person will report to me but I will still have to do most of the onboarding work because my manager is not involved in strategy side of projects.
