Outside of paying back on time, should they open a new account to increase credit line / lower % of credit used? What options are best to quickly improve credit scores

My company is paying for one credit card. I'm leaning towards Amex Platinum given the large 100k sign up bonus at the moment (which I'll be able to hit). People lean towards CSR because of the 3x on dining but I don't eat out that much (and additional perks, but I prefer the Amex for that).
