Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

All good. For my general needs being home outweighs in person. But there are aspects I miss. I try to bring my team together on occasion to make up for it.
Absolutely. Culture is important. I think even more for support who often can get lost in the overall company culture because we have to do things differently. So it’s important we are strong together as well as with the company
People are social creatures whether we like it or not. So I realize a lot of people think it's fun and novel to be able to work from home, it isn't good for our overall mental health as far as I'm concerned. We never have in-person conflicts and that's not actually for the best, because it means we will never grow in our relationships with others, it's all surface level. Like talking to a machine. If someone annoys you, and you have to work with them, it is a good chance to grow and increase your interpersonal skills.
I love working from home, what I like the most is: while attending desperate clients I can make faces and they don't see me so I can get through them arguing pointlessly for so long.
I think that I'm good. I love the flexibility of working from home, and I love that I can take care of my family and work at the same time.
I've never really been one for company culture, so I'm quite happy with the work from home situation. It's allowed me to cook more and I can take care of my dog during the day, which is something I missed before.
I definitely miss the in person company culture. It was great being able to bump into people in the kitchen or chat with them on my way out of the office. So yeah, kind of waiting to be back at the office!
Honestly, I do miss seeing some of my colleagues, but a few of them are really unpleasant people to be around. I'm willing to give up that personal contact because I can get more work done when I'm not focusing on what my coworkers are (or aren't) doing.
I miss coming in to the office and seeing actual people. It's just not the same to click on someone's profile picture and type "how are you doing today?" It seems really impersonal and it's hard to communicate that way.
Not even a little. There was so much drama and bitterness at my job, I love being able to ignore it now.
