I'm constantly finding out from my male creative partner that our boss has given him tasks without asking I be put on that project. On the flipside, when our boss asks me to take care of something, he tells me to ensure my male creative partner is looped in / included.

Not only do I feel incompetent as I'm made to look like I can't handle something without my male partner, but that I'm less trustworthy and reliable as him.

There seems to be a hidden cost of resetting your promotion progress when you switch firms. How can you avoid this when firms insist that you come in at your current level (if you are close to promo at your current firm) or a level below where you are at (if you have just been promoted), even though you’re getting a significant pay bump?
