I completed my final round of interviews for the Custom Software Engineer (Level 10) role on Dec 5th. The technical panel gave positive feedback.

It has been over 2 weeks (18 days), and I haven't received any update from HR. My follow-up emails and calls are going unanswered.

Is this delay normal due to the year-end holiday season? Or is there any hiring freeze going on for this role? Just trying to understand if I should keep waiting or move on.

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

What would you do in this situation?

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.

What salary should i expect for PwC SDC- Associate in Cloud Engineering with almost 2years of experience in IBM as System Administrator role?
Current CTC- 4.34 LPA.

Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.

I have 2 to 3 weeks to prep for a case interview. Never did one before. What can/should I do prep over next 2 weeks considering I only have weekends to prep?
