Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?
YOE: 4.5 Years
Tiger: 18L Fixed + 1L JB
Optum: 21L Fixed + 1.5L JB

When you join probably just a windows laptop and a bag .
Mouse keyboard and headphone you have to place a laptop peripheral request once you join.
(You might get a MAC is you are lucky enough but very slight chances - you can place a request for MAC after you join and if your projects billing is good enough )
Yes there is a huge difference , MAC does most of the tasks really well.
In optum we have HP elitebook which is a normal laptop. (Most probably you will get this)
For performance we have HP Z Book and Mac

It should probably be dependant on your team guess. I had similar doubt everyone said same depends on team nothing concrete based on roles.
I see where this question is coming from — onboarding experience does matter.
But personally, I feel what matters more (especially for an AI/ML role) is the kind of work we’ll actually be doing once we join.
For example:
- Are there real AI/ML use cases being implemented internally?
- What does the tech stack look like (MLOps, deployment, data pipelines, etc.)?
- Is it hands-on model development or more support/maintenance work?
These factors will have a much bigger impact on learning and career growth compared to things like accessories or welcome kits.
That said, both aspects are valid — just depends on individual priorities

I have a fair idea on the work. About the technical stuff. I wanted to know do I need to buy accessories personally or do they provide as I dont have accessories now.
