What's your typical work day look like? Where do you work/what size firm do you work at?

Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" It hasn't explicitly been said, but I'm one of the only Black attorneys at the firm and I think my white colleagues and partners see me as an example of how Black folks "should be" cause I mind my business. My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

Capital one offer extended & accepted. Background check is complete and marked as “eligible” by the background check company. It was delivered to Cap1 2 days ago. Shouldn’t I have heard back by now? I’m waiting to get info on my start date and equipment etc. Should I reach out?

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.
