Brand side most of my career and have loved it. Went to agency work for a few years in the middle and was 💯 traumatized by it. I also don’t give a shit about awards, power or working 15 hour days to be considered “cool”. I would never go back.
Thanks folks! Appreciate the kindness here 🤗 just the growing pains at the beginning can be a lil rough
It can vary depending on where you’re at but in my experience it’s far less stressful, provides more work/life balance, and usually means less back and forth to get things approved. If you have a great manager and good team culture, then all the better.
Absolutely do not miss agency life. Not one iota. Hope to never ever have to return.
When I worked brand, I loved it. Wish I could find another gig like it!
I think back fondly to my brand side like it’s a long-lost lover, the one that got away.*
Get through the first weeks and then it’s a beautiful life.
*aka laid me off during a merger
Maybe it’s cause before you got there stuff was just piling up, but once you push through this stack the flow won’t be “fire hydrant”
