While discussing the role with HR pre and post the interviews & offer, I had specifically ask the HR to tag me to Ahmedabad location as that's my hometown and I do not wish to relocate. But she has rolled out the offer for Pune location ane verbally ( isn't giving me in writing ) assured me that the location will be flexible. In August of 2019, I hit rock bottom. I was working at a T1 law firm as a summer associate, and was constantly drinking (before work, during work, and of course at all the after work social events). Things got so bad for me someone reported my drinking to HR and an investigation was launched. I have been sober since. But now I am applying to be admitted to the bar and the character and fitness committee is making me relive my darkest time on repeat. It is very triggering. (Contn in comments)

They gave large raises to 95% of our employees across all specialties (some called what they got "life changing") but our group was overlooked or disregarded with no explanation! I am conducting settlement negotiations by phone with opposing counsel (Plaintiff) tomorrow, for the first time. OC so far has been cordial and reasonable. I do employment law, if that makes a difference. Other than making it clear that their claims are weak and should settle for our offer (and also we don't have a trial date yet so it could be at least a year before we could even get to trial), what other tips do you all have?
