Copying someone else’s post from another thread as I think it’s good baseline advice. Hope it helps and thanks to the original poster!:

Find someplace you want to work. Since you have no work experience, it will have to be an entry level gig that requires very little if any prior experience (think fast food, retail, bagging groceries).

Then you'll need to go to one of the places you've chosen. Pick a time that isn't busy for them (e.g. - Do not go to a restaurant during lunch when they are super busy). Dress like you want the job (think slacks, dress shoes, and a nice shirt - that will show the hiring manager you're serious and separate you from the 40 other people applying for the job).

Ask to see the manager. When the manager comes out, stand up as a sign of respect, shake their hand and say, "Hi. I'm John Smith. I would really like to work here. Can I fill out an application?"

Fill out the application. Bring ID, a birth certificate, social security card, or a passport in case you need it. When you're done, hand them the application. They will either interview you on the spot, or take your application and say they will schedule an interview later. When they are done with you, shake their hand again and them for their time and consideration. If you haven't heard from them in a few days, call them or drop by, and ask if they've made a hiring decision yet, and reiterate you want the gig.

Lather, rinse, repeat with all the other places you've decided you want to work.
Now...here's one last thing. Whenever I'm hiring someone, my main mission in life is to make sure I'm not hiring someone else's problem child. This means the interview is not the place to present a list of demands, or tell me what you're not going to do if I hire you (e.g. -you won't work weekends, overtime, etc.). The person that's agreeable has a better chance of getting the job.

Good luck in your search!

This. Apply in person. Show that you are eager, reliable and will be easy to work with. I would add grocery stores to that list.

Also, make every adult you know aware that you are looking for a job. The best leads come from having a connection.

If you are looking to get into a trade, there are other avenues.

Lying on your resume never hurts.

And a very good early Monday morning to you Mrs Boyd, first and foremost I read your message and I just want to tell you that you are doing absolutely nothing wrong in your employment search endeavors, now you're 17 years old and you are trying to get your feet wet with some employment endeavors, and I have to commend you on you trying to find some type of employment, let me ask you a question, does your high school have an employment center, because when I was going to high school many many moons ago, we had two programs that was in my high school, the first one was called camba and it's an acronym for the Church Avenue Merchants block association and they have helped me significantly with my first few jobs that I have held, and the other one is called co-op education where you are able to go to school full-time or part-time and you are able to go to your job full-time or part-time after you go to school or come from school and it is been very beneficiary to me when I was your age, so my advice to you Mrs Boyd is see if your high school has a co-op education program that can help you seek employment while you're attending High School and if they do have a co-op education program in your high school, find out who's in charge of that program and enlist yourself in that program and let them know that you are looking for work and at the same time you like to continue your education and more than likely they will hook you up with a part-time job where you can work two or three days a week while you go to school full time, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your employment endeavors Mrs Boyd and may the good Lord Jesus Christ almighty God help you in your employment search, have yourself a very wonderful a very blessed and a very pleasant early Monday morning. 👼🏿🙏🏿😇✝️✌🏿✊🏿💙💯

Husband and I usually get hello fresh for meals, but we forgot to unskip this week, and now have no meals prepped or planned for the week. When this happens we usually order takeout every night and that’s unhealthy and expensive. Any ideas for meal prepping? Or quick healthy meals/grocery list?

How far do you require depts be with negotiating commercial contract terms before your legal review? I’m talking routine low value and risk contracts (e.g., vendor services), where Legal terms won’t kill the deal. My clients blindly forward contracts. I say “are you sure this term is ok?” And often get “no.” They’re surprised because they never read them. Checking the temp to see what others experience, what might be normal. I feel contract training in my clients’ future...

Hi All,
Currently working in S&P Gloabl (Associate Software developer {Tableau})
I am looking for a job change.
I have +6 Month's of experience.
Skills :- Tableau, Python, SQL.

Does anyone know what a good escalation point would be for a D&I situation that I feel is not being handled in the right way? It seems like the situation is being swept under the rug since technically no “policies” were broken.
