Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Our nation saw a disheartening surge in covid cases. Amidst these tough and painful times, the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff continue to work day in and day out for our safety, our lives.
Calling you to join hands, as we raise funds to show them a token of gratitude with a small care package.

Eh, I’m not exactly looking to get back on the road four days a week.. but going to an office and a bar after on the other hand..
What do you like about it? I travel periodically and if I ever spend more than a week on the road it starts to take a toll on me. Don’t you miss being around your friends/family/SO, hitting the gym, sleeping in your bed? Especially if you’re not in NY/LA/CHI for your engagements

For me it feels like the best of both worlds. I’m still home Thursday night-Sunday to see my loved ones, but can also take a “break” during the week and focus solely on work. I feel distance makes the heart grow fonder, and the time I spend with people when home is more quality than not. My last project had me traveling alternate weeks, which was a perfect balance.
I’m with you. I miss the travel a lot. Being in the same place every day has me going insane
This situation has made me realize that the commercial life is not for me. I don’t want to return to federal, but the points and status aren’t worth living out of a suitcase 65 percent of the time.
