Don't mention it in Resume. If they ask about gap, just mention for 1 year, you tried upsc and other government exams . That's all.. just mention about CTS 2 YEARS..
remember, they will only verify what you have mentioned in resume and submitted documents
But in uan portal if that company details is showing then they will ask for letters
Almost all better sort issue and close end date of previous company
How cognizant accepted you when you abscond?
Every company track pf history. But You can tell them you did non technical job which is not relevant to your current skills. This works
Yes you can tell them it was non IT field, they will not consider this experience.
you can check in epfo portal, whether your pf is overlapping or not
Pro
Just tell the truth. Mention that you worked for 7 months in your first company but you don't have the relieving letter.
Then they might ask for release letter ,if possible try to get the release letter from previous company
The company which u abscond
If you mention your work ex in that company then documents are required for it.If you skip that and mark as gap in your resume then you will need to explain that gap
Better to not mention that first company at all, present cognizant as your first job. Maybe if still asked then you might say i was on probation period or something like that
Just consider your first company as non relevant job to the applied job.. and don't mention it anywhere as you don't have a relieving letter from your first company... Just don't count that experience in CV or anywhere...
I have done similar kind of a thing and most of the companies do track the pf service history. The worst thing in my case is I have 18 days of overlap from the company which i absconded and next company. If you do not have any such overlap just be transparant with the HR that you do not have the reliving and they will consider your profile
It is better to inform because even after getting selected they will reject you because of this
Almost every MNC like Wipro , LTIMINDTREE, capgemini , Tcs, infy started verifying UAN employment history.
No one will ask you releasing letter from all past companies. I think you are worried for no reason.
Rising Star
True he simply needs to not tell that he worked.
But the UAN thing is more complicated, Infosys was doing this even before this issue blew up "after the alleged large scale moonlighting during Covid lockdown".
all companies will do that
You have to mark exit date against the absconded company in EPFO portal. Connect with the company and request them politely to do the same.
Employees can also mark their last date of previous company in the epfo portal
None check that, just don't add in your resume.
for the 7 months if there is a PF history and no relieving letter it might be a problem
for the 7 months if there is no history of PF , no one can touch u
How u managed in cognizant??..CTS follows same standards of other MNC's. If CTS gave job, then why not others???.. Nothing to worry , you can just try for oppurtunities without fear!
Rising Star
Every company can, not sure if they have access to your history but if you have a UAN then your history is hinted at.
Looks like you have forsaken your PF, no option.
Remember there is an option to create a "new PF" i did that in strange situations when my company changed names etc and i was already in another company.
Read other comments here for details, take a recruiter in confidence and talk to the senior in that recruiter firm.
AND NEVER EVER DO THIS AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE.

If Cognizant didn't probe then, then others are even less interested.
Its always good to be honest and tell your interviewer what happened. Now, you can also go back to the first company and try to complete the formalities. They might not do it in the first attempt, but if you can explain the situations in which you absconded and agree to pay the notice period or negotiate some terms with them, I am sure they will do their best to help you out.
Today, almost all companies check PF history as part of their background check process. So lying in an interview is not a smart thing to do.
Just my though based on your questions.
How you handled cts bgc i am in same situation can you share what happened ?
My uan is linked with aadhar even though if i say i don't have uan they will get to know mine .and now i joined a product based company what should i do if i change after 2 years ? I dont have any overlap i absconded in 25 days no salary/pf credited.
