Hello Fishes,
I have 12 years of BPS industry experience with almost 9 in TCS working in different roles and domains.
TCS has helped me grow a lot over these years in terms of acquiring business acumen and knowledge.
However financially I feel i am lagging behind and i am looking to take that big leap of faith.
I have heard this community supports each other, request you to please reach out to me, if you can really help me take that leap of faith. Accenture IBM EY Deloitte

What does "typical of the audit documention style" mean? If you are suggesting that workpapers need to be in a standard format and style, I don't follow the question. Yes, workpapers should follow a particular consistent framework, so that they can be picked up by other auditors. You shouldn't have workpapers with different styles, as a reviewer should not be able to tell who did what workpaper by how it looks. Your sign-off should be the only indication as to which auditor did what.
With respect to language for reports and comments, they also should follow a consistent style such that an external resource can understand what was done - but not be able to pick out who wrote the comment based upon the language.
What type of support have you asked for? Did you ask for your supervisor to take you through the style that the department employs? Do you go over the comments that were provided to you so that you learn from them?
When you make comments about your supervisor being "manipulative", that makes me think you don't value their opinion. It also makes me think you are brand new to the work world.
Do yourself a favor and ask for the guidance you need, as a means to get less comments from your supervisor in the future. Understand not just the "how", but also the "why". Any supervisor worth their salt will spend the time with you to get a better output from their team members. No one likes having to rip apart a lousy work product. It's a waste of everyone's time.
Good luck!
1. There is a set template. We all use the same template.
2. By documentation style I mean, using different words for an observation with additional details again which are already mentioned above in the report and not liking the compact precise version and at the same time changing my detailed version of a control to precise version. So it gets hard to understand what she likes and why ? Doesn't give any comments on why ?
3. The thing is she just updates the documentation without any review notes saying it's reviewed, let me know if you have any questions. Ofcourse I then reach out.
4. She expects to understand and observe on my own without guardrails and at the same time gets offended when I say : As I have mentioned above.
5. I know , it would be expected from me to be proactive and I do that but she reads my work papers incorrectly and asks incorrect questions and confuses me and then say sorry, but if I make an error she would just be so picky rather than providing her thoughts on how can I improve or I could have done this instead.
6. Why I said manipulative - it's a long story and there are many instances. My Main observations is that she leaves my chat and email unaddressed where she thinks it is not important according to her after giving her frustrating comment. Do you think this is professional?
7. I do value her opinion and wanna learn why and how she thinks but it feels like she is never gonna be satisfied.
8. She just asks about some factual and technical observations rather than coaching me on certain style of documentation and even I tried asking why - she said actually leave it I will update. Now what are your thoughts? Is this how you mentor someone ? Then give negative feedback?
9. I am not new to the work world but just wonders why do some bosses/seniors behave this way. I have made mistakes and been coached by mentors / seniors and improved and thats how it should be rather than making a toxic environment for someone.
10. The department is a small team with no documented style. The Head of the department doesn't even care if the work papers aren't prepared and just the report is submitted so it's really vague.
She’s your boss. Just follow and do your job
I thought the same thing once , thank you :)
