I have a friend whose mother is originally from Vietnam, got permanent residency, and was in the midst of applying for citizenship when her husband / his father suddenly passed. It’s been a couple of years and she’s now confused about her current status and unsure of what to do next to obtain citizenship. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good immigration attorney in Houston who could assist? Money isn’t an issue.

Have interviews set up at FAANG co and getting good signals, for a position that was posted widely (all across US) but not remote. Haven’t broached the subject of location yet. Would you (1) early on clearly state that you’re not open to relocation but that you would be open to visiting a big office once or twice a month; (2) not say anything now and wait to get an offer and ask for an exemption; or (3) something else?

job 2 or atleast offer (Senior Manager 3 days a months in office( Banking firm) minimum, people manager for 24/7 infra operations teams and new project)taking a salary cut of 8k in base and with better WLb( hr) says so in interview. The JD shared during the interview says : Project Role Description : Assists with the data platform blueprint and design and Key responsibilities is a. Pre-sales and solution ownership of sales pursuits data analytics related services for cloud b. Own end to end RFP or RFI etc. Does it mean work is on presales only ?

I am getting a little impatient with a recruiter who feels like she has been ghosting me. I need to make another decision with a company by tomorrow but have not heard back from this other company since I’ve interviewed last Monday. I updated her on my timeline and she hasn’t emailed me back. I have her number from when she initially called me. Would it be bad to just give her a call?

Is there any advantage to telling a company you are interested in working for in the future where you decided to accept an offer from? Or does it not matter? I accepted an offer a week ago with a great company (Company A) that for this season in my life seems like a great fit and only strengthens what I have to offer company B down the road. Company B just sent me a request for interview and I want to keep the door open with Company B but they were just very late in extending an interview.

I cleared all my rounds of interview in JPMC, had salary discussion with HR 2 weeks back. After which i was asked to apply the job on candidate portal and submit additional information.

Its almost 2 weeks and i haven't heard back anything from them. My status in portal shows "You are moving to the final steps in the process". This status has not changed since last 2 weeks.

Can i expect the offer letter to be released? If yes when?

Interviewing for an L6 TPM role at Amazon and have received a request to submit a writing assignment (post phone screen) that is due before the interview loop.

Would it be a problem if I write about the same scenario from my phone screen, with more specificity? I have a great example on the innovation option, but HM already touched on this topic. I think the intent is to just gauge my writing style, but don’t want to assume.

Anyone else feel like work/billable hours gets in their way of taking care of their life? Hate having to choose between working to keep up with billables and taking care of my life whether that's the gym or whatever else. Feel like I never have enough time for both.

We have motion sensor lights in my office and the sensor is far from my desk. Consequently, if I'm on a long WebEx, the lights go out and it's embarrassing. The building won't change the sensor. Anyone find a solution for this (aside from standing up and moving, which would be very awkward)? I can't rearrange my office.
