For me (I didnāt go to business school, and worked in a technical function) it was just the grind. Full on, clear calendar, heads down prep for about 4 weeks. I did 2 hours after work each day, and about 10 hours weekend days. Used all the internet resources (Victor Cheng LOMS, Case and Point, etc.), did mental math prep (Victor cheng, fast math, mental math apps on my phone) & booked as many practice interviews with friends as I could. Totally turned me around from shocking to getting in so it was worth it (and doing well now, so I didnāt game the system etc.). My husband was at BCG, so he kept giving me the confidence Iād get there.
Good luck!!
This is how I plan to approach it!
Ask yourself what is really going on here? What are the inputs?
Make boxes on your page with those inputs- stick to them throughout the interview. If you get lost - go back to your boxes.
Cross out the irrelevant ones as you find out more information.
Do your math on a separate sheet of paper to keep your initial paper with inputs clean
Ask for feedback: redo the case yourself after by trying to incorporate their feedback- record yourself and listen to how you are coming across
Case interviewing is not rocket science. What did you find hard?
