As a probate and estate planning attorney, I’m considering adding a family law component to my practice. What is the best way to begin? I’ve been reading/watching all the CLE I can get my hands on but how to find my first family law client? Take on a pro bono matter? Find another solo practitioner who could use some inexpensive assistance?

I’m interested in becoming a product manager but I don’t think I have the right background. My background is in enablement/product training/L&D. I don’t have a technical background. I work closely with the PMs at my current company and would love to get to do what they do. Is it possible to be a product manager without a technical background? Are there any certification type programs that could boost my credentials and employers would actually care about? Or is this transition a pipe dream?

Should I leave my company? Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. We hit quote every month/q/year by a lot. I have several offers at double my OTE. Already asked what the timeline is for a new manager and I was told soon and I'm "up for consideration." So I’m gonna assume that most of us in L&E are in it for the passion, otherwise we would have taken corporate commercial or M&A for the money.
So… where do you see your ‘ultimate resting spot’? Would it be 1) global head of L&E law at a big company, having to always be under the global GC, or 2) just collect enough experience to take the GC route? This of course has way more money, but work with stuff that doesn’t excite you as much, or 3)…?

How's the experience? What are the advantages, disadvantages of working there? Any additional benefits apart from base salary + bonus?

Looking to transfer into a client associate role (unregistered at the moment, but willing to obtain). Currently have ~1.5 YOE in valuation (financial statement analysis, modeling, etc.) I get that those skills could be unrelated to a CSA role, but I think there could be some similarities. Does anyone happen to have a referral or can anyone give DM me some insight into what a CSA role would look like? I appreciate it.

Does anyone from agency world to “cagency” world have tips on learning the consulting side? I’m finding as an experienced hire, I lack in some skills such as economics and budgeting.

I realized a slow pace at work is really bad for me. A couple years ago I was experiencing burn out from my fast paced job supporting transactions, and believed by moving to a slower job in a lower cost area, I would be sailing off to the sunset. Wrong, I spend weeks following up with other teams, often times they forgot what we discussed, so I spent 50% if the time reminding them of the topics and next steps. I spend most of my time writing memos no one will read.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

My confession is that as a young guy, I want us to go back to the office so I can meet driven, career minded, attractive women. So tired of being catfished and all the other BS on dating apps.

Edit: to clarify, I don't mean hitting on women at work. I would just like to meet quality women, and I don't go partying or to bars. It's very hard as someone in their 20s coming out of a pandemic to meet people.
