It sounds like you’re at a crossroads, and that’s perfectly okay! Since you’re interested in improving websites, why not consider a career pivot within the banking sector into design or user experience (UX)? Many banks are constantly working to improve their digital platforms, and your background in banking could give you a unique perspective on what customers need from an online banking experience.
I appreciate your response to my first post here, was a little nervous but said why not. definitely at some crossroads, thinking about all the different choices and decisions to make that will give me the most success. But yes, I believe something like that is what I will try to look for eventually, when I can find out how to get there. When you say design, you mean like design of websites?
If you're working inside a bank you've got an advantage in that you will be able to find out a lot about various aspects of banking. You should learn about the different departments in your bank and see if any of those would interest you. If you pick a specialty, you can go for certifications in that area, and apply for jobs in that part of the bank. Banking is a relatively broad field, and from your current position you could move in a lot of directions, it's just a matter of ascertaining what you really want to do.
thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post. You’re 100% right, being in the role that I am, I get exposed to a bunch of different situations. A bunch of different things like commercial banking, scrum manager, analyst, and business banking seem interesting to me. I wonder if I would be able to do certifications in some of those until I know what direction to go to.
