Anyone else super unimpressed with administrative support with a new firm after lateraling? I told a partner I’d just take care of a routine task myself. He told me my rate is too high and to use a “project manager” (basically an intern they can pay less than a paralegal). We have a 40 person group and 3 project managers making starvation wages. Big firm. You’d know the name.

I told her i need details about the project and she said she will talk to project manager and get back to me tommorrow. Everyone says we have to search project after joining only. I was assigned a project for a big brand a year ago through a recruitment agency, the brand now contacting me for another project & asking for a quote. What’s the common practice here?

I did sign a contract with the agency and in the freelance handbook it states out that within certain period of time any future projects from the same client needs to go through with the agency. But I don’t want them to take half of my pay check. Help!
