I’m a Designer I in the Broward, FL area with just a bit over a year of experience in Healthcare, I’ve worked also in residential and some maritime CBP (Customs and Border Protection) related. Should I look into other fields within architecture or continue to gain knowledge in healthcare? Will it be more profitable? Will it be useful for me if I decide to go on my own at some point? I’m worried that I’ve been doing just this for a while now.

Do I really need the lectures (Becker) to pass the exams? I really just want to do everything else besides that.

Anyone else having trouble focusing today? Every time I have a long break and come back to the office I’m reminded how much I don’t like my current job. ID Associate and I have such a hard time concentrating even after a week off. I find it mind-numbing and unfulfilling. I’m never excited to come to work anymore for the past few months now. Is it wrong that I’m just not into PE/VC? It seems to be the most desirable exit for most people that I work with. The work seems like it’s not a good fit for me but it feels crazy to pass up trying to get that amount of money when there really isn’t a realistic alternative to that amount of wealth (and I do want that amount of wealth).

Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.

I’m curious to know if anyone has experience working part-time in architecture? I have been working for large international firms in NYC for the past 10 years. So I work all day every day. My evenings and often the weekends are all absorbed by work duties. Working part-time would allow me to find a better balance, and carve out space for side gigs and eventually start my own firm.
