Hi,
This is my first time posting on Glassdoor. I'm looking for advice and/or encouragement. I'm 31 and work in Tech and am thinking of doing something new. I've been thinking of going back to school. There's a program or two that I'm interested in abroad, but I'm a bit scared to apply - certainly since I have to rewrite my resume! I don't have kids and have some savings put away, so I feel like it's maybe a good time

Anyone have any advice? Anyone switched fields in their 30s or 40s? Tia!

If it’s age holding you back, the best thing I ever heard was that you’ll still be that age regardless of whether or not you do the thing. I’m almost 35 and making a switch. Rewriting my resume wasn’t fun at all! But it feels great to pursue something I want to do instead of staying the course and being miserable for it.

Hey Alisson 👋 It’s great that you’re open to exploring new paths, your 30s are actually a perfect time to pivot and build something that excites you 🌟 Change can be scary, but it often leads to the most rewarding growth.

If you ever need guidance updating your resume or exploring the best programs and job options abroad, you can reach out to alfredpetersonhiringteam.gmail.com, Alfred helped me and even my brother with career transitions, and his support made a huge difference 💪✨

You’re only going to get older and the older you get, often the harder to make change. Go for it!

Updating your resume is going to be easy.

Go for it. Life is too short to waste time worrying about the what ifs of the world.

Update: I did it! I rewrote my resume! I'm gonna get some friends to review it and will re-review it, but it's at least a very solid first draft!

Thank you everyone who commented! Fingers crossed I get accepted into a program!

Do it . How will you know the outcome if you don't try? That is what many miss out on opportunity for being uncertain or fear .

Hello, folks! I wonder if you have any advice/info for a person who is looking for an "investment associate" role in Dubai. I have a financial audit background (4 years Big-4), 1,5 year in deal advisory (half year financial due diligence department, 1 year valuation department). I have experience in TMT, retail, Energy and Utility and other industries. Currently I'm living in Eastern Europe.
What is considered to be normal in relation to WBL, compensations in Dubai for such role or similar?

Studied accounting and finance but worried about the future of this profession. Currently working in Forensic Consulting but want to leave. Anyone struggling with imposter syndrome? When I worked for a very well known Fortune500 tech company I couldn't help but feel major imposter syndrome. Everyday was a struggle and tried to keep myself small so no one would find out I was a "fraud." Looking back on it now, wiser and more experienced, I realized how detrimental feeling that way
