Honestly just feeling a little stupid today. Botched a MTD so had to redo a bunch of it and not really understanding court filing procedures. Just a few Ls and trying to rebound. That’s all.

This, too, shall pass. I once filed a motion (at a biglaw firm) with the tracked changes included. Luckily it was only to add a COS to the end, but I was devastated and when I told the partners? No one cared. Also, we ended up winning the motion, and I promise you, NO ONE remembered the botched filing. Chin up.

This is a great anecdote. Hearing stuff like this is a great reminder that everything feels fatal in the moment and almost nothing is

These things happen. Right now, with it presumably happening recently it probably feels bigger than what it is. With time this will likely not be a big deal if you even remember it all. Get knocked down 7 times get up 8.

What do you mean you botched it?

Meh just had everything in the wrong spot, needed to elaborate on some things, a little blended together. Live and learn.

We’ve all done things like that. It’s part of the learning process. Believe it or not, a lawyer’s job isn’t easy! Take it as a learning experience and don’t be too hard on yourself.

MTD are always difficult. They seem to be so simple thats why people forget the little things..... Dont feel tooo bad about it..... . A bad day for the ego is good for the soul remember that. Cheer up!

Hi,

I am done with the multiple rounds of technical interviews in PWC AC and HR confirmed that the feedback is positive and they are working on next process.
Its been one week I haven't received any communication on that. When I called HR, she told that background check team will reach out to me over email or call in some days.

Can anyone suggest if I should hope for the offer letter in this case from PWC AC or not.
Also, what salary I should negotiate for Senior Associate.

My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. If I understand correctly, the sole disadvantage this has compared to a tax sheltered retirement account is that the quarterly dividends will be taxed? But even so, they’ll be taxed at a lower qualified dividend rate since I’m automatically reinvesting those dividends.

Do any real estate lawyers out there know of/can direct me to a ROFO agreement to purchase commercial property? I’m working on one now (but using a ROFO to purchase equity interests as a basis) and would like to see what other people are doing. Finding a good one has been hard, as this kind of thing isn’t always required to be filed with the sec and every search I’ve done basically pulls up garbage. Also, are there any provisions you’d consider absolutely crucial from the owner’s side?

What would happen if I left my current company, started at a new one, and got pregnant before 12 months of service with the new company? For reference, I know new company requires 12 months for FMLA, and STD is 3 months.

If I’m not eligible for FMLA, what would that leave situation look like? Not currently pregnant but husband and I are wanting to start trying soon, just don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t take maternity leave. TIA!
