Hot take...

Lowering interest rates is not going to spur job growth. It could actually accelerate investment in AI and accelerate job loss.

It will spur some investment and some growth, but the impact will be dampened by all of the other economic uncertainty resulting from the current administration’s policies.

Lowering Fed rates doesn't guarantee lower rates going out the term structure, although often that's the result. Should it happen, that can help companies who are in need of refinancing. None of this necessarily boosts net job growth though. Ultimately our economy is demand-driven, not supply-driven.

If the Supreme Court rules tariffs illegal and interest rates drop significantly, we will be back to where we started pretty quickly. Tariffs ruined the economy…

Disagree, lowering interest rates will increase growth and jobs.

Main caveat:
It can't be/be viewed as a temporary cut that could shift back upwards anytime.

A couple people posted a recent MIT study on which companies have had successful AI projects.... noting that 95% fail.

Taking that with a grain of salt, AI still isn't a panacea (yet)

Had several great interviews at a company. Reached out to internal recruiter a few days ago. No word back. Should I send a LinkedIn message to the person that would be my boss to check in?

Do you all feel that the Health Insurance choice is actually all the same? The coverage is absolutely copy and paste for Bronze to Platinum and the deductible/copay is very similar.
I just don’t understand why we have the illusion of “choice” if the offer is the same and it is really bad (in our case).
Going from $61 per paycheck for 2.5k deductible 75% copay to $500+ per paycheck with 500 deductible 85% copay.
Other firms have better health insurance?

Need some advice on renting here in ATX.

Back in May 2021, I rented a property that had sustained damage during the big snow storm. This wasn't disclosed at lease signing. The home leaked every time it rained, mold was found in the home & the LL failed to make repairs that resulted in me falling down a flight of stairs. I moved out& rented an apt for 2 mos before signing a lease on the house I live in now. This house has a serious big problem& I've found mold here too. Continued below

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
