Hi Fishes, I've accepted offer from Accenture from their portal.. But now got new offer from EY and wants to join at EY. So how can I tell Accenture Accenture India that I'm not going to join them. Rather than not showing up on the date of joining? Can you please guide me? How do I let them know? My talent coach is not reachable
Is it a good time to switch jobs

People in Philadelphia can be abrasive at first, but they are also warm and welcoming when you get to settle in and know them.
I grew up in the suburbs outside of Philly with an immigrant parent and then moved into the city as an adult. It’s like most major cities I’ve been to.. People are more direct or ‘rude’ to keep the wrong people from noticing them.
I’d say that most people are nice with a tough shell.. usually just on guard because it’s city life. You’ll be mostly okay if you find your friends and community to be around. It also depends on the neighborhood you’re in too. Some areas people will stop and talk and in others no one would pay you any attention.
If you have questions feel free to message me. Hope your move goes well.
Thanks that's some useful info 🌟
People from Philly equally hate all people, it might be called the city of brotherly love - but it's just a name.
You will be treated (poorly, but equally) like everyone else is what KPMG1 is saying.
Make sure to address everyone by saying “How bout dem cowboys!” And you’ll be fine!
This city is definitely racist. But it’s like any other city in the NorthEast.
Author, can we ask what race or ethnicity you are? Different parts of the city are racist to different groups of people to various extents.
People in the US hide racism really well. You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference
.
This is my first time in America, any unsaid rules i should be aware of ?
That’s maybe New York but not Philly. People are nice. I’ve lived here my whole life. You’ll be fine.
Which country?
As a Philadelphian, I can say that its not as bad as people can make it seem. Some people can be racist and others mean, but its not the entire population of Philadelphia. I'm also a black man...so I know what racism is and what it looks like.
Many immigrants do come to philly and find pockets in Philly where they are with similar people, others come and move where they can afford to. Either way......moving here and getting started is not difficult, but don't expect perfection.
Great idea!
I'd love to meet all of you guys
Yes. There is racism toward Asians. I have had a lot of racist comments made towards me due to my eyes and accent.
It’s not funny.
I’m sorry you even have to ask this question. Philly is a gamble. Just keep your head on straight and stay focused and out of trouble. People are always looking to start a problem … don’t engage
Yea pretty much but it’s hard to distinguish sometimes.
Interesting to me how much engagement this post has seen vs most other posts in this bowl lol.
I think it has been said by most people on here but the area you decide to live will largely dictate your experience. I assume if you are coming from India your visa sponsor is helping your placement. Are you searching for your own housing or are their other visa holders from your firm that you can speak with about their location and experiences? I have seen my firm’s visa holding population live in pockets of locations, together, this helps families and singles to establish their own mini community to allow for quicker assimilation.
As an immigrant from New Jersey, i have been treated with respect and kindness.
You will have no problems. Good luck. Think you will like it here.
Welcome.
My GF lives in Philly. Most miserable and unhappy people I have ever met. She hates it there
