Making anything creative with those people is a win so I like it. From personal experience I know those clients are braindead

Nah. They’re following Wieden’s work, which was great, with a pretty generic brand origin story which boils down to “our founder made chicken.” Compelling stuff.

Meh idk. I like it but I’m not wowed. That fair?

Not amazing but certainly the best work that’s been made recently.

Kinda interesting move to show the Colonel as the angry spitfire he really was vs the charming southern gentleman he was always painted to be. I can see angry white southerners getting behind this. 🤣

likefunny

Idea isn’t revolutionary but I really like the execution. Really good

like

Pretty but not great conceptually. Not a fan of chicken as a verb

like

Maybe. But you don’t get credit for work you couldn’t sell.

I like seeing the colonel punch someone in the face. The work is fine. Not groundbreaking, but not boring. I wonder what percentage of the media this will get vs. their food crave work. My guess is not much.

I feel like I’ve seen the “brand origin story but make it kinda winky and semi-ironic” thing so many times and it feels like a lose-lose.

You end up telling a brand story consumers don’t care about in a semi-ironic way that leeches it of any believability.

Colonel Sanders cared about chicken? You don’t say. There’s some interesting stuff buried in the spot, but it treats him like a fictional character.

likesmart

Okay. I’m not sure this ad solves that problem. Also think you could tell his story as a founder in a more interesting way without getting into whether he was a racist. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

Love it!

Not bad. Does he get more violent in the next spot? I’ll watch it either way.

Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.

I have a business idea in the VR/AR space utilizing AI. However, I lack skill sets to evaluate viability or to create an MVP. Neither do I have a network to tap into.

My plan is taking classes to deepen my knowledge while joining and actively participating in communities to find collaborators.

Does this approach make sense or do you recommend other approaches? If it makes sense, do you have any recommendations for classes or communities?

Look forward to hearing your experiences and wisdom!

Hi all, I have about 7 years of professional experience but only one year as a Customer Success Manager. I work on mid market accounts currently. I love my job, but would prefer to support a more robust platform that will allow me to add more value for my customers.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on what compensation you might expect for a CSM transitioning to a new company with one year of experience.

To clarify, I don’t have an offer yet, I’m just looking to make a move.

Thank you!

Junior keeps sending me their work, but partner never asked me to review it. I am a mere one class year ahead of them. I’m not going to cover for their work product either. In spirit of transparency, How can I politely tell them they don’t need to keep doing this nonsense?

I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.

I’m about to give my notice at a firm I’ve been at for the majority of my legal career. They’ve recently offered me non-equity partnership (which I’ve accepted), w equity partnership on the horizon. However, I’ve been annoyed with their way of running the business and getting between me and my earnings far too long; and I received a lucrative offer to go in-house. I’m not looking forward to their reaction and feel bad about them having to take over my docket when everyone’s very busy. Any tips?
