Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

Consulting been able to grow faster than industry in knowledge and title. Have knowledge of multiple clouds that wouldn't necessarily be possible at one organization in industry. Hours have varied based on project and employer in consulting. Working with industry clients, the in house teams definitely move slower than consulting projects. I like the faster pace, variety and learning in consulting.
From my exp: in industry: it was exactly 40 hours (or less) / week, but during big pushes or integrations there were extended hours. If anything broke we could end up working all weekend. The unit was off on an island, reporting through IT but really working closer with analytics then any real IT. Execs treated us like 2nd class citizens so budget was always small and bonus always at avg or lower. As a consult: more structured agile style work, less flexible to come up with creative solutions, no weekend work unless big demo on Monday. More $ consulting than industry.
My experience was exactly opposite from Salesforce 1, now working at industry, and loving every minute of it. Industry: Same as above for hours, but better culture.. Both teammates and Management.
Consultancy, was either just meh, marginal bonuses, no STIPPENDS for WFH ., ETC... Teammates were great, but Management was stodgy ..
Am Glad to be back in industry.. Don't miss the time reporting..
However, it all comes down to the culture of the project(Consultancy), or culture (industry)...
Hated industry.. To much politics..but liked the WLB... however would be interesting if u do SF work in SF company :)

I’ve done both but within the nonprofit space. I worked for a nonprofit as an admin and now I consult at a firm for them, so take that for what it is.
Pros for industry: WLB, rarely felt burnt out, worked with some great people, felt immediate and lasting effects of my work.
Cons: Being a nonprofit, my pay was probably half what I make now. Bonuses didn’t exist, raises didn’t even keep up with inflation before this big spike. Lots of staff turnover (common in this space).
Pros for Consulting: Way more pay, opportunities for growth, learning a LOT more integrations and products I wouldn’t have otherwise. More learning in general.
Cons: WLB kinda sucks, it does sometimes feel like a grind and I’m not even working some common consulting hours of 60+ hour weeks. Being a SF partner, we’re hamstrung by using mostly what Salesforce offers, rather than what may be best for the client to maintain the SF relationship. I HATE logging time for every little thing.
