Hi guys, Now VMware is offering me a 35% percent hike of what I am earning at DellEmc. I just completed one year at DellEmc. Total 2.7YOE But I don't like to go out of Dell, due to some personal commitments I am planning to switch.
Is it a good time to switch?
Can I talk with my manager ?
Are they able to hike the salary of what VMware is offering? Please suggest me.

I took a 30k payout and work 9-5 now. Totally worth it
Took a $30k pay cut to leave a horrendous company - stuck it out for a year at a start up until I got my admin cert and came to my current role. Best decision I ever made.
Cash over everything 🤑
In all seriousness why would you be miserable? And it’s sad thinking about culture that you even have to ask this question

I have - not in the SF industry though. The problem was the lower paying job turned into a pretty miserable work environment 6 months later.
Yes, in general. But no in salesforce world. there is always a job which will give you both.
I think that makes sense. I’m currently an SE at salesforce and want to go back to consulting. Not sure if I’d have to take a pay cut.
Then again a large part of my comp is “at risk” or commission. Which i have yet to receive all of it in my experience
Unfortunately I’m not. Definitely interested in healthcare though if that counts for anything
Yes. As long as I could still comfortably live with the pay for the new job, I would do it. And I have done it. No regrets.
I was in yout situation a couple months ago. I was so close to taking the pay cut as I have not received a better offer back then and I’ve been dying to get out. But glad I waited for a few more months and was offered a better paying one at a company better than the other one. So my suggestion to you is to keep interviewing and eventually you’ll get a better one. Best of luck in your search!

I wouldn’t but I’m a sicko.
If the pay cut is truly “a little” and the job you have now you “hate”, seems worth it to me
