Comp question - what should a B4 Senior with a CPA, CFF, CFE, and a MBA with 4 years forensic exp (D&T) and 6+ years non-forensic exp (industry) in NYC and DC markets expect in this current climate?

What is new and demanding technology in automation testing to get good salary hike.
UI automation, api automation it is very common and everyone knows. What tech can make my resume out of the crowed.

After a long and extensive interview process (2 months & 12 rounds of interviews) I finally heard back that they are very interested in offering me the job. My Current base is $135k (in NJ) and my ask is $180K (in NYC). But base comp ceiling for the position grade is $165k and they are willing to offer one time payment to make up for the gap between the offer & the ask. Any thoughts? The role has very upward potential in next couple of years.

What are other comp elements I can negotiate? Thx!

My husband has been unemployed since last year. He has a part time gig holding him over until he finds something better, but he is struggling. Overall he has 10 YOE in hospitality (server, bartender, events, and restaurant manager) and 2 YOE in sales.

I’ve had this conversation with numerous peers; that’s both people I knew from the military who transitioned to consulting, and people I didn’t know in other branches who I’ve worked with. I’d like to ask opinions on what we bring up as being the stark difference in the transition; being a manger doesn’t mean you know how to manage. Has anyone worked in the disaster recovery Space and went directly into fraud? I’ve worked on disaster recovery projects as a Quality Assurance Analyst. Essentially we make sure no fraud is occurring. I haven’t had any luck finding a remote fraud role without my applications getting denied. I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

Is it just me or at EY Forensics everyone just blame any mistake on those below them. I sent something to a client with a mistake which my supervisor didn’t notice as well. When the client came back the supervisor just fully blamed me for it like they didn’t review the work themselves. I completely agree with taking responsibility for my mistakes but mistakes happen and there is no need to finger point like it’s not a team effort.

Can anyone provide some guidance to taking the CFE? As in which membership option to choose from followed by when exactly can we take the exam, if the entire amount is reimbursed or not? Just a generic timeline and additional required info. Don’t want to sign up yet if the exam dates are not flexible. Thank you.
