My company, Pegasystems, is agressively hiring for Senior Solutions Consultant (presales) positions nationwide. If you are interested in working for an amazing company with market leading products and a great culture, please message me. Happy to discuss further. Assuming you are reasonably qualified, I can provide a referral as well.
Bain & Company I have a second round with Bain & Company coming up at the DC office for Experienced Consultant role. Excited, but hella nervous. Recruiter said it’d be 3 separate interviews, all with Partners; 2 case, 1 fit. About 40 mins each. First round was 2 case interviews with Sr. manager & Associate Partner. Been a rough year, so definitely looking forward to this opportunity. I’ve been on the site and going through preparation and materials. Any advice or suggestions welcomed!

Bench press and squats
Set low expectations and over deliver
Babysit, hold hands. Take all the blame.
Think like a delivery lead. If you were the single throat to choke if a project went south, how would you go about your activities differently? I go about it as clearing the path for the people doing the actual delivery, keeping management appeased with proper communication so they don’t distract the team, identifying risks and issues and getting those resolved so we stay on schedule. Think and plan a couple steps ahead so you’re not caught unaware
I would keep a tracker of every decision made and all action as which need to be completed. This will help ensure nothing sips through the cracks and will provide you with information when someone asks why you are doing something a certain way
Don’t listen to the haters! A good PM is no joke.
In general, a good PM will create meaning/insights out of that information collected and use it to get ahead of potential projects or identify ways to get it executed better/faster/cheaper. They’ll also develop a reporting system and outputs that minimize overhead and deliver actionable info to execs. And, since they have touch points across work streams they will also be good at bringing the right people together to make decisions and work through issues.

I know the PMP is crapped on but really understanding the pmbok helps a ton. It will give you good insight on the foundations to run a project. Documenting and following some type of methodology creates a huge difference from a “PM” that’s just forcing things to get done.
Work on and hone your attention to detail skills. Build rapport and foster trust with the team you oversee.
