Follow up to initial post - specifically looking for books that cover tactical operations topics like best current SaaS processes for DevOps, releasing code (eg release management), people management, budgeting.... For example all that pragmatic tactics for building my own start up, what I'd like to know about getting processes correct from the start to provide optimal scaling

Just got a job offer with significant raise and will be a change in job role😃. How should I go about talking with my current people manager about the move? I want to keep good relationship with this manager. I’m planning to apply to MBA this Fall (around Sept/Oct 2021) and will need recommendation letters, and would love to discuss with her NOW about writing me a recommendation letters around August (which is after I leave the company already). Very anxious about this move 😟

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

I rolled off a project 3 months ago. They keep reaching out and asking me to help onboard new teammates to give them historical knowledge (it’s a long-term project). Do I have to keep doing this? How do you deal with someone who consistently doesn’t contribute to a project that’s supposed to be a shared? I like him as a person but this has now been 2 months of me & my senior strat doing all the work while this other guy rarely contributes because he claims to be busy. I think my boss finally saw this - last time he had us take ownership of various parts, he didn’t even bother adding this dude but I still waste time waiting for him to respond, says he can meet then doesn’t, etc.
