Don’t lump CFA with those turds...

I would't call ACCA a turd, but I'm an ACA. ACA was and is great, I learned everything I would have at a MBA, my CPA friend covered way less. MBA network is the missing piece. Lifelong learning is important, relevant qualifications are important to show the commitment to lifelong learning.

Hi, we're searching for a job in HR for my wife. She's an MBA from India and has 10 years of work experiences across various HR roles in FMCG and Tech. Her last role was a HR BP and India site lead for a US based semiconductor major. Is CIPD necessary to get a comparable role in the UK? While we undersrand it's a new market, would she necessarily need to start from a basic role again? It's difficult to balance studies, work and manage a 2 y.o. Any pointers or job openings would be appreciated.

Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?

I'm in commercial contracting in house and everyone is driving me crazy today. Mainly business team being disorganized, Legal has to rush to help out or fast track contracts due to poor planning on business. Is this just commercial contracting? Or do other companies have a better handle on this.

Hear me out. We’re living in the residual days of advertising power. Back in the day, if you worked in advertising, you very much shaped culture. Advertising creatives shared the airwaves with only the likes of Hollywood and national news. There were only so many pipes into culture and advertising was a big one. But today, the pipes are democratized. Random teens on TikTok are having more impact on culture than Mad Ave. And yet, so much ego and self importance remains.

I’m buying a house with my SO and MOST of the down payment is coming from me. Both our names will be on the deed / title. We are getting married very soon! However, because I’ve been very busy at work, I wired her the money to go get a cashiers check with our down payment and closing costs for our closing. I noticed that the “Remitter” on the cashiers check she got only has her name on it. Is this a problem? Should I have the cashiers check changed to have both our names on it for legal reasons?
