I don’t always make all church activities that I would make during non-busy season time (activities outside of Sunday morning service) but I never compromise on Sunday morning service. I gently inform my partners that I will not work Sunday mornings for religious purposes.
I’ve never had pushback. People are generally respectful of it.
When I was a staff at EY I never had a problem w keeping the sabbath (SDA here) and church attendance as long as I communicated with my teams from the beginning. I was located in the times sq office and would inform my teams that I needed to leave early from the office/client site every fri evening to get home in time to welcome the sabbath. I also never worked from fri sunset to Saturday sunset as the Bible instructs regarding the sabbath. Never had push back at all as I held firm in principle and at the slightest notion of pushback I always prayed to God that i would never let a job dictate my worship. I was also on a couple teams w a Mormon bro in Christ that was a senior manager and he never work sundays bc of his faith. Everyone knew ab his situation and didn’t question it.
Be real w God as he’s real w you!
SDA here as well! So far I have not had to work on Sabbath Day yet. I'm sure when that time comes I'll be working on leaving.
It’s definitely tough. I also have never budged on Sunday service. I got a little bit of pushback last year but I got my work done the first Sunday that we worked so after that no one brought it up again. My church also uploads services online so for Ash Wednesday for example, I’ll just watch service later in the evening
