Home daycare: cheaper and lower frills, but a usually a loving provider who you get to know almost as family. No cameras, no problem: my kid came home safe, fed, and happy everyday. That’s all I needed to know. We opted for this.
Montessori/Goddard: waste of money, especially for under 2. Some people like the branding. Took one look at the price and “curriculum” and walked away

3 major ways to find a home daycare:
1) wonderschool.com
2) Local mommy / parent groups on Facebook
3) Word of mouth
We found the daycare we used for my oldest via a friend and my youngest on wonderschool
Also live in the DFW area and have been happy with Bright Horizons for all 3 of my kids. Each one has unfortunately had to start earlier and earlier ( 2 1/2, 1, 7 months). Our experience may be an outlier in that the center we take our kids to is exclusively for healthcare workers and is essentially on the campus of two adjacent hospitals.
They are open to anyone. This specific location is for healthcare workers only. I think the hospitals have an equity stake. For example the facility only closed once or twice during the entire pandemic and that was just because of county regulations.
