I use it but not all of it. I already was teaching some of the skills my way before starting the curriculum. I continued those methods. I also don't follow their pacing or plans. I spice it up with other materials covering the same topics
I started to do one concept of math a day when working in whole group so everyone is exposed however, when teaching math skills for IEP goals I use touch math. By the wayvi have TK - 2 which requires 2 curriculums. You will need to look at the curriculum and work it into what you do. Just be patient, the first year is the hardest
I look at everything, target the priority lessons, benchmark/checkpoint frequently, and let myself make mistakes. Students benefit from the lessons even if they’re getting a lot of it right with errorless practice. It takes time and consistency. Unforced hand-over-hand (full physical prompting) even counts in UL if you look at the prompting system.
I’ve used it before, but typically just the social studies portions. I find it easier to differentiate that way.
I’m using ULS. I’ve really just started and am having my para follow the suggested lesson plans. We don’t get to everything, but it seems like you really have to dig in and LOOK at everything to get a good feel of it. I like it.
