Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte
Does anybody know if you can switch employer on sponsorship?from outside UK
My situation:I have filled visa and waiting for it from few weeks with company A and don’t want to join then because I have better offer from company B. Company B wants me to withdraw my visa application so they can file a new one for me and they r telling me they can’t generate my CoS until I withdraw application. How shall I withdraw my visa until I don’t even have CoS from company B??

Have dirt on everyone, pretend you are a fool. Everyone should independently know you can end them but collectively think you’re a moron. I’m referring to learning individuals’ personal styles/attitudes and knowing how to play them. Of course, all of this should be on top of being the best in class at your level.
You will find politics everywhere, there's a whole field of research into organisational politics that's super interesting. It has a lot of benefits, despite being seen as dirty or bad in some way. My one piece of advice is to never be the person who *starts* slagging someone off to someone else, as you're just giving someone leverage against you.
Do you have any book or podcast recommendations?
By acting like a senior consultant, and backing it up with the quality of your work
My response will be unpopular, but I think it’s pretty honest, Politics is part of any corporate job. You basically have three choices:
(1) leave corporate (or contract) - plenty of cooler fields to make a living in
(2) rise above it, give zero f**ks about your job, treat it like it’s a piece of comedy. Just accept that it might mean you’re always seen as an outsider that’s unlikely to climb.
(3) Play the game, follow other seniors who seem to be good at playing it too to follow them through your next promotion.
What is bothering you? Every workplace in every sector will have its politics. As a junior, you don’t need to get into it. Enjoy the privilege of not having to navigate that and focus on learning, doing a good job and expanding your network.

Stop trying so hard and start sucking up to the right people instead. If you observe politics at your level, that doesn’t bode well for the firm.

For as long as there are human beings in a place, there will be politics. Focus on what you want to achieve there and mind that.
