Reach out to KOLs for insights or advice. Ask who to best connect with re: “blah blah” or who is an expert in “something or other”.
Make friends through mutual establishment.
Will try thanks!
Reaching out to colleagues for "coffee chats" even if it's virtual goes a long way! I did a lot of these during COVID and I actually enjoyed the 1-on-1 time. Remote work might create physical barriers, but it also removes a lot of the conventional office "chatter" distractions, making it a perfect time to develop more thoughtful, intentional connections.
Love this, I need to be more bold and reach out
We different interests groups you can join - sports, pets, book club etc. Since we’re remote, groups Zoom in bi-weekly.
I wish we had that
This is where LinkedIn has been a huge resource for me. I connected with coworkers there first, which led to building relationships outside of LI. Good icebreaker, as long as your coworkers are looking to network also. I personally think a lot of times people enjoy hiding behind a screen and avoiding conversation.
That’s such a good idea! Thank you!
I started a local networking group to connect with other professionals in the area. Sometimes it's more about socialization and getting out of the house than actually advancing my career, but I think both are helpful. I've been able to connect with other freelance marketers and actually collaborated with one recently for the first time, which was really cool. Remote work does make it difficult and we have to get creative about connecting with other people. I personally can't really work on things like LinkedIn, I always feel so awkward reaching out, so in-person is the way to go for me!
I’m going to see if there are any grips in my area! Love this thank you
