How do you push other departments to complete tasks? Who does the requesting and does the task actually get done?

Take notes, assign names and dates, follow up. Basic accountability skills that far too few people seem to practice.

Copy the team on the notes and start the next meeting asking for status for everyone named. Public embarrassment (and wanting to avoid it) can be a powerful tool.

like

Make friends in other departments, and remind them it's not YOU asking for a task, but all of your collective bosses who want something accomplished. Let the person/people above all of you be the villain. It's uniting.

This is a great tip. It works a lot better to have friends in the workplace.
