During WWII a brilliant engineer found a way to encrypt radio transmissions, which led to the wireless network we use today. Who? Hedy Lamarr (yes, THAT Hedy Lamarr, the actress). A pretty face does not have to mean a lack of intelligence!

I completely agree! I know many beautiful and very intelligent women, not just engineers.

I am an engineer, I speak three languages and I also participated in a beauty competition. It's not that I need humility, it's just that I'm an engineer and it's a quality of us hahaha.

Okay but let's not act like she invented it on her own, she had a LOT of help from George Antheil and some engineering professor. Certainly an achievement to be admired but no need to rewrite history

Definitely a smart woman with an illustrious life and career, but to attribute wireless networks to her is a bit of a stretch imo

What a great example of Hedy Lamarr, many men have developed extremely important things but for some strange reason that is rarely talked about, it seems to me something quite suspicious.

The woman's ability to create has always been there, what happens is that they have always stolen our recognition, but not anymore, now we fight for our rights and our recognition.
