Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

Getting a raise twice in 2 years/ once a year you should feel good about that IMO. Not everyone gets that despite their performance review.
Omnicom and OMD are doing well, winning clients while other hold cos have been losing clients left and right.
Omnicom is well positioned going forward as evidenced by winning the biggest part of the Amazon biz, have a strong product offering.
Where are you at in life? What’s the most important thing for you?
Money doesn’t buy happiness, it will be a crapshoot if you switch and work on an account that is chaos and in a bad client relationship. Nothing is for certain.
But if you pine to do something different, work on a different type of client or expand your skill set I would look internally.
You just said it yourself the industry is not in good place right now but frankly Omnicom is better off than other hold cos.
Do you want to stay agency side and go to brand side?
Ive been in this industry a very long time, and I’ve had the itch many times and I have regretted moving.
Maybe that urge is not career related, can it be something outside of work that might be impacting how you feel about your work life?
No matter how hard we try, sometimes our personal lives affect our work lives. I know a lot of us say live to work vs work to live etc but it’s hard not to keep the two separate all the time.
Trying something new doesn’t have to be career related.
Ive been there and without getting too personal, I really thought about it and what was going with me personally did impact what I did from a career perspective and it did impact my performance, good and bad.
Anyways good luck with it. You are fortunate to be in a good place in your career right now, so be thankful for it, enjoy it but also take advantage of it somehow.
Take a vacation, go somewhere you never went but always wanted to go. Do something outside of work that you always wanted to do but never did.
Maybe that will trigger something and you might come to a realization/understanding of what is driving this urge that you can shake.
Is it just a feeling? Not enough growth? Bad boss? Want more money? Whats the sitch
Try meditation and gratitude.
F because i feel the same exact way
Personally, whenever things start feeling “comfortable” I always get the itch. I left places where I received bonuses and raises every year. That never kept me around. I get the itch when every day is the same day, the same people, the same problems. Call me crazy but I genuinely like starting over every couple years working with new people and tackling new challenges, new problems.
feeling this as well. i care more about the creative opportunities vs money but im getting neither. keep being told it will come but damn…when?
What do you do at your agency? Maybe start looking within other roles or responsibilities
